Purminerals Pur Balm

If you read my blog regularly, you know for the last few months I’ve had a mega battle fighting my dry lips. I owe  a big thank you to Clinique Repairwear Intensive Treatment for getting my lips back on track, but at $26.00 for a tube that goes way to quickly, it’s a pricey investment.  I wanted something that I could wear with reckless abandon without thinking about the price every time I put it on.

I’ve always been a big fan of Purminerals, not to be confused with Bare Escentuals. Purminerals is a mineral based makeup that isn’t loose so it’s not as messy, it’s non-comedogenic and provides wonderful coverage. They make a nail, skin, and lip balm called Pur Balm which retails at $17.00. This moisturizing balm contains shea butter, vitamin E and essential oils. It comes in a .5oz tin and goes on silky smooth. It has a soft lemony fragrance and doesn’t leave your lips bone dry a few hours later like alot of lip balms do causing that addictive cycle that we all know so well. I usually don’t like tin balms because you have to stick your finger directly into it which means germs, but this balm is worth a few extra germs.

I’ve been using this balm a couple of weeks now and my lips feel hydrated and moist and the shine left behind is subtle, plus  this balm is great for moisturizing cuticles and rough patches. If that’s not great enough, Purminerals is one of the few brands that doesn’t test on animals. You can find Purminerals on their official web site or at your local Ulta.
